Experienced PSYPACT Psychologist for Telehealth

Dr. Edie Joy Sasson-Gelman, PhD, CRC

Please use this link to schedule with me in my self-pay practice, which currently serves over 40 states, the District of Columbia, and the Northern Mariana Islands territory.

I support people in situations that take them to the edge of their abilities or comfort zone, such as starting a new phase of life, changes at work or at home, trauma, illness or disability. Together we can build new skills to make your life better.

When we are not sure what to expect, our minds may try to fill in the uncertainty with thoughts and emotions. They can be mild, or strong enough to stop us from doing the things we need to do every day. In the same way, what we do when we have these strong emotions of depression or anxiety may be helpful or unhelpful.

There are things about our lives that we can't change, but those things don't have to keep us from taking the steps that we can. I have learned to help people understand what they are feeling and get beyond the thoughts and beliefs that lead them to behave in ways that are holding them back, with some powerful tools like cognitive-behavioral therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness.

I take a strengths-based approach geared towards coping and improving quality of life. For healthcare professionals who may work long day shifts, I offer early morning or late evening times.

E. Joy Sasson-Gelman, Ph.D., focuses her psychology practice on better quality of life, coping strategies, adjustment to long-term illness and disability, and reducing the effects of depression and anxiety. Dr. Sasson-Gelman sees private practice patients by appointment by telehealth. She holds an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology by PSYPACT. This authority allows her to practice under her Florida license to over 40 participating states. Because insurers require individual state licensure in the state where the plan member is located, she accepts only self-paying patients in her PSYPACT practice.
